seen in basements and garages, a column used to support the ceiling to the foundation. It is put in before the slabs are poured.

I would say it would be fine.I would take a hammer and tap around the column and see if the concrete sounds hollow or thin. When you drill just keep a good feel on the hammer drill to see if you feel any sudden drops thru and into the column footer. You may need to get some longer quick bolts. The concrete needs to be four to five inchs thick.I would get at least 6" quick bolts.

Does this lift have cables on top or bottom. You could always attach the lift to the loly column to the lift.

i'm prob going to go with the bendpak 2 post 11' wide 11' tall lift with runner on the bottom, not accross the top. That puts the lift posts flush, inside the two lolly columns in my garage. Nice perfect tight fit. Just wanted to make sure it was a good idea to do that.

If you can go with the cables on top,I had the cables on the bottom on my other lif and hated it.Reasons:rolling tools around the garage, pushing a car that doesn't run over it,cleaning, changing a trans with a trans jack,I sit in a chair when working or welding and it can be a pain.I think the top bar type make it more safe as well. This is just my opinion as to what I have experienced.Bend pac man top of the line goodluck.

X2 on the clear floor span. Can't begin to express the frustration that obstruction on the floor presents.
