I couldn't believe it!!! I pulled up Flowmaster's web site and played some of the sound bites and she loved it!!! We also have a set of series 30's on the '69 and she was excited about getting those put on.

My question is, our '97 RS convertible has the 3.8L motor with the automatic transmission and I was wondering if anybody has tried the Flowmasters for this application or other similar mufflers. Will it have the low powerful tone? We do not want it to sound like the imports. I need any advice on performance exhaust for this motor. graemlins/beers.gif

Unfortunately, it won't sound anything like a V-8. My buddy recently put flowtech terminators (duals) on his 3.8 V-6 mustang. I run terminators on my truck and you would never think they are even the same mufflers because the sound is so very different. His sounds pretty good for a V-6, but it will still never be mistaken for a V-8.

My neice bought a 95 with a 6 anger. It has a catback system with flowmasters. Sounds OK, like a sewing machine on steroids.

ps. while you will never get that V-6 sounding like a V-8, you might still like the sound it makes. LS1 motors sound weird too IMO, but I like it. :D

I have a buddy that spent a fortune on a Borla system for a v6 camaro and it still sounds like a 6 banger...sorry I put a flowmaster on a 94 v6 to try to make it sound better and it only made me sell it to buy a z28..maybe it will work for you too...speedy

Speedy, was the '94 the 3.4 motor or the 3.8? I am told there is a considerable difference in the 2 motors, both in sound and performance.

I am QUITE PLEASED with my "6 banger"! I know it ain't no V-8 but this car will go graemlins/thumbsup.gif Flowmasters's web site has a sound clip of a '99 Firebird with the 3.8 motor and it sounds awesome!!!
