My 95 Z makes a rub/grind sound when I first begin to move forward or reverse, even tried taking of in 2nd same noise. Car shifts great no noises except when first letting out the clutch to take off.

Car shifts great no noises except when first letting out the clutch to take off. 69camaroralleygreen Sep 7th, 03, 07:43 PM same thing happened to me it was my throwout bearing went bad. while i was in there had to replace the clutch to about $500. bucks. mike SLEEPER 86 Sep 7th, 03, 10:26 PM might replace the pilot bushing while you're there. a trick for this;grind down an old 1/2"socket extention til'it just fits inside the pilot bushing.pack the bushing hole and the area behind it with heavy grease,and with a good sized hammer drive the shaft into the bushing hole.the pressure of the grease will push the pilot bushing out around the shaft. if you run a standard this tip can be invaluable! as always Good Luck!
