I recently bought a 68 convertible. It's in rough shape, but restorable. The main problem is that the frame rail under the rear seat is bad on the drivers side only. It's really rusty, but still holding the car up.. I see they make frame rails for coupes, but the convertible rails use steel that's twice as thick as coupes..Anyone know if somebody makes the right frame rails? Thanks

Gary, if you are talking about the rocker, then they do make one for the convertible specific. If you are talking about the actual rear frame rail, then i think you can use the replacements the vendors carry. I actually used both the full rocker on my passenger side and bought the partial frame rail for the drivers side.

Thanks Rob. I understand the rockers are critical for support but I was thinking the same was true for the frame rails. I'm not sure I'd be comfortable using coupe frame rails..

The repro full frame rails that I purchased for my 68 are thicker than the original frame rails that are on my coupe. The supplier I purchased from does not have a separate part for coupe vs. convertible. I didn't know convertibles had thicker frame rails, being my repros are thicker it would not suprise me if they used the thicker of the two and just made one part to cover all models.
