I have a 69 with a big block and power steering, but I am in desperate need for a set of headers. The 68190 Hedmans are the only ones that look good for my application. The only problem is that they are designed for cars without power steering. I don't mind dinging one tube if need be. Has anyone run these with power steering? graemlins/clonk.gif

Yes, just put a new set of PN 68190's on my 496 that I got years ago back in '95 from the old RHS in Memphis, TN so hope they are still made the same?

One thing is that my set had 3" to 2.25", 3-bolt collector adapters so I had to order a new 3" to 2.5" set this week from Summit for like less than $20. The $8.95 handling fee kinda hurt, but whatever... Now I have the old, (new set), of smaller ones that I don't know what to do with??

I put NOS '67, BB frame mounts, (from National Parts Depot), and new poly BB(??) motor mounts, (from Auto Zone), on, plus a new to my car rebuilt P/S gearbox from SPEEDWAY MOTORS.

I am almost positive that the pass. will dropped in from the top UNTOUCHED, (AND on the mount too boot), but I got nervous and dinged it in two spots to clear what I thought was going to be a problem and had my motor loose, but not up all that much on that side. (In and out like 7 or 8 times, He, He!!, "It's NOT very funny" as "Lillie Tomlin" woulda said)...

At the front tube by where both the rear upper A-arm shim-bolt comes out, (on the bottom some), and the rear A-arm roll, (about an inch back and vertical towards the outside), b/c I didn't want to trim anything.... You will see what I mean so don't get excited UNTIL they touch there!!!!

The drivers side of the motor has to be lifted up about as high as you can get it, then stick a short 2x between the mount "however" so it can't bite you and install the header from the bottom... Mine clear GREAT, but I do have to say that both collectors are almost solid to my floorboards so I figure I'm gonna have to tweek my floorpans in those two ares with a BFT!!!

It's funny b/c i have a really good feeling that they will work fine, (with some P/S area tube dinging), using all the SB stuff, even with P/S, but have NO way of knowing for sure?? I do know they would then clear the floorboards fine, imho.....

I'm gonna hook my existing 2.5", four turbo muffler set-up tonight using two short pieces of 2.5" x 9" long flexpipe and four clamps that I just bought this afternoon.

That way, Travis and I light her off in the evening onna these weekends if/when he can make it up, we don't SCARE h-ll outta my neighbors..

Good luck and come back and tell us how the install went..

PS., and the nut end on the frame mount of my new BB Z-bar was a real Bit-h to get tight!!!!
