1968Motion427SSNova Dec 17th, 09, 02:17 PM Tim,Is that the 69 Blue with white interior Copo 4 speed DH car your looking for?
clill Dec 17th, 09, 02:17 PM 93 is not the green 70.
1968Motion427SSNova Dec 17th, 09, 02:38 PM Clill,Is that the Green 70 Harrell 454 Camaro on the SYC classifes recently you speak of? Kim Howie has a 70 Harrell 454 Camaro, turn dragcar ,right? I believe Tim is looking for the 3rd 70 Harrell 454 car which was Maroon with black top auto car....Sold to a well known Dragracer from Brooklyn NY.
MUSCLECARMAGMAN Dec 17th, 09, 03:03 PM Thanks Charlie.Dan there were more than 3 454 DH camaros.The 1969 car is a converted 427 blue/black 4spd. camaro. Tim
1968Motion427SSNova Dec 17th, 09, 03:43 PM Oh,wasn't sure thought you were looking for the COPO Blue DH 69 Camaro with the white interior. How many 69 Camaros did DH put 427's in that weren't original factory 427 COPO Camaros?
MUSCLECARMAGMAN Dec 17th, 09, 03:57 PM She is finally taking the time to go thru boxes and boxes of her dads stuff ,not all dealer paperwork, and will release a list of what has been found as it is found. There were a few 69s though.
RichSchmidt Dec 17th, 09, 07:13 PM I thought Heavy's 1970 Pro car was the car that started life as Butch Leal's car.No matter how you look at it Heavy's 70 was reported as Crushed by the last known owners all the way back in the 70's.It was wrecked when it fell off a trailer, was stripped of all it's parts and sat outside a gas station until it collected too many rust holes to fix and was crushed.
1968Motion427SSNova Dec 18th, 09, 01:28 PM Rich,Heavy told me it was bought from Dick Harrell. Its in a old magazine article before it got the Zebra paint job. Heavy had ramp trucks and box trucks for carrying his cars.I had one of Heavys Old ramp trucks.....
RichSchmidt Dec 18th, 09, 02:38 PM I just sent out a PM to a guy on another forum wwho is the son.nephew of the owners of that Amaco station on Long Islnd that had that ex Heavy car sitting outside.I am waiting for a response.I was just reading on another forum that it was a 69 Camaro that was sitting there back in the day.I am leaning on this guy a little to try and get in contact with the surviving brother who owned the shop.I believe this guy's father passed away but his uncle is still alive and there was a 3rd partner.I would really like to locate one of these peices of history maybe for myself or maybe just pass the info along to somebody who can do the car justice.I am not into it for the money, soif I found one I would rather help it get into the hands of somebody who has the resources to restore it rather then just trying to milk some cash out of somebody.
1968Motion427SSNova Dec 18th, 09, 03:23 PM Rich,Yes I heard the story of the gas station and the 69 Camaro chained to the post.I have the actual address, but no luck with yet. That car is a orignal Hugger Orange with black top RS/SS SS427 Motion automatic Camaro. There was also 2 other names attached to this car.

Why not release ALL of the information, so everyone can help locate the missing Harrell cars, or is that just for a privileged few?
MUSCLECARMAGMAN Dec 22nd, 09, 08:25 AM Not much there and most of it has the actual buyer info. Most of the cars are known or have been located or previous owners that have contacted the site looking for docs. There are only 2 cars that the whereabouts are unknown.2 camaros that I just posted last week asking 2 of your members if it was their cars for FREE.
1968Motion427SSNova Dec 22nd, 09, 08:40 AM Hey heres some Free info, buy SuperStock magazine, issue November 1969,pages 38,39,40,41 and 72.Read about and see pictures of the Harrell Blue 69 COPO 427 Camaro with WHITE interior.Glen Powell and James Zeleny of the Harrell camp mentioned in the article.Go for it guys, where is it??????
1968Motion427SSNova Dec 29th, 09, 06:18 AM Tim,What 1969 Dick Harrell Camaro did Joe Zostrick own,but at the time couldn't find any DH paperwork?
MUSCLECARMAGMAN Dec 29th, 09, 07:13 AM She found the paperwork when Kurt Sonin inspected a car at her place. He ask to see some paperwork and it was in the box of documents she let him see.
1968Motion427SSNova Dec 29th, 09, 07:54 AM Tim,So Joe Z stil owns it and was given the DH docs??Can you share some info with the Team Camaro member?Sounds like something everyone would like to know more of. Isn't Joe the one who owns the #1 ZL1 Porterfield/Harrell 69 Camaro,it?
motionvette Dec 29th, 09, 09:10 AM Dan, I can answer that. Joe does still own the #1 ZL-1 car, although a multi-car deal may be in the works. He sold the 69 DH Camaro to Porterfield and Val found the docs afterwards. Neat piece and the real deal! Original owner still alive and well and actually flew to the Forge show a few years ago to see the car and the Harrell crew. Neat story.

The paperwork was posted but removed to keep it from being duplicated.3 pages of story.SUPERNOVASS (Jason) on the Yenko site owned the car.He found it.
1968Motion427SSNova Dec 29th, 09, 04:16 PM Very very nice! Thanks for the link!
1968Motion427SSNova Dec 30th, 09, 05:35 AM So Tim,Jason(Member of SYC) lives California. found it in Hawaii, then called you, sold it to Joe Z with no paperwork yet, then Joe Z sold it to Bill Porterfield which by this time Dale and Val found the Dick Harrell paperwork???Right Tim? Now does Joe Z want it back? Is this the right chain of events? Does Jason have any pictures how he found it,love seeing cars untouched in their original state, like Barn find pictures, you know what I mean. Also would love to see old vintage pictures from the original owner back in the day when it was in California!! Can you share any of these?
MUSCLECARMAGMAN Dec 30th, 09, 07:07 AM I found an old ad Jason posted here for the car.I told DB and he sold it to Joe.DB dealt with Jason on all info shipping etc.
motionvette Dec 30th, 09, 08:38 AM Dan, it had wheel flares on the rear quarters. To bad as all sheetmetal was original and rustfree. Rear quarters were replaced. Original drivetrain. Paint looked like $hit, but car was straight/rustfree. It also had a funky exhaust where 2 pipes exited the rear on both sides. There are pics on the sYc site somewhere. Interior was absolutely mint! Don't quote me, but I think Joe might have put that interior in the green ZL-1 Huber restored for him. Larry Byers restored the car and did an exceptional job. I always believed the original owners story with the car and the paperwork now verifies it as true. Dick Harrell picked the guy up at the airport ( he lived in CA. ) and got a speeding ticket on the way, in a ZL-1!! How cool is that!? It is one body number off of Joe Swezeys Harrell Camaro car ironically. Hard to believe. Original owner only raced it a few times at Lions Dragstrip in CA. Special car for sure. Original owner also told me he was given emblems for the car to put on, but instead he mounted them on his toolbox!! :)
parkbrau Dec 31st, 09, 12:24 AM Nice. I would like to have a Dick harrell badged tool box.
JOE58 Jan 2nd, 10, 08:24 AM That is a cool car and nice article but was wondering about this part....
quote from CP article
"Libby says every car that received an engine conversion had to have the badges on it because the DHPC was classified as a “Small Manufacturing Company.” That classification allowed them to remove the AIR system and install a variety of aftermarket high-performance options. "
Does anyone know more on this. I have not heard that DHPC was classified as a MFG company or these other statements before?
