Hello. Does anybody know for CERTAIN what to expect as the last month of assembly for any given model-year Chevy? I have always thought that a new model-year began somewhere during the summer months. For example, the last assembly month for a '67 Camaro would be June or July, and the first assembly month for a '68 Camaro would be July or August. Does anybody know for Certain?
Also, a guy is selling an inline six he says is from a '69 Camaro. He says the assembly date stamped into the block is 0915, which represents Sept. 15. He says the embossed block-casting date is I149, which would be Sept. 14, 1969. Isn't this too late of a date to be the correct engine for a '69 Camaro??? He's mentioned "matching numbers" and implies the correct VIN is on the block. If that's correct, then would you say he must be misreading the final number that's embossed (it's really an 8 but he thinks 9 -- easy to misread)?
Thanks
