Has anyone or does anyone run spin tech mufflers? they look like they have good ground clearance and the sales bs don't sound bad. How load are they and what do they compare to in sound? thanks..speedy

a buddy has dual 3" oval w/ spintechs on his head/cam '94 Z . . . sounds EVIL . . . and using capitals IS required
they are kinda pricey but the best alternative to flows I have heard

I have a pair of 3" ProShootouts on a blown 454 in my Chevelle, and there's a soundclip on my website if you wanna hear 'em.

I like them better than Flowmasters, they seem to flow better (sheesh, just about anything flows better than Flowmasters) and they do sound good as well.

In my setup, I'm running 2 1/8" headers, 3" pipes w/ H-pipe, to the Spintechs, and then out through full 3" tailpipes.

The soundclip was taken from about 15 or 20 feet behind the car, then off to the side.

Kinzli, that sounds pretty sweet, do you get much resonance at cruising speeds like you grt with the flowmasters?

Speedy, no resonance whatsoever, but I've also got the car insulated with sound-deadening foam. It's pretty freakin loud though, my friend who owns a muffler shop (and drives an injected nitro 6 second TAD dragster) says "it's too dang loud" smile.gif

The Spintech ProShootouts are louder than 40-series Flowmasters - they're Spintech's race muffs. At idle they're not too bad, but at WOT all heck breaks loose and every cop within a mile or two knows Jeff's gettin' on the throttle graemlins/waving.gif

I just replaced my Flowmasters with their street mufflers. They are alittle louder than the 40 delta flows I had and sound 10 times better ( the delta to me sounded like glasspacks). The x pipe gives it a totally differend sound. At idle it's deep and rumbling but at higher rpm's it sounds like I have a NASCAR motor in it. They have a complete bolt on kit that includes the Dr.Gas x pipe. Call them and ask for Ron. Tell him Donald with the Orange 69 sent you and he'll take care of you. I think you can buy direct from them.
