Anybody use the Plug n Play billet distributors with the Ignitor III features by Pertronix? Just wondering if it's an easy install.

Love it...was a real easy install, hook up was straight forward and I use this coil to go with it....

Just mark where your distributor is pointing now from the rotor, pull out the old points dizzy, slip in the new one so the rotor aligns at that mark, tighten it all down, and presto....new electronic dizzy:beers:

Just that the Ignitor III is the latest and greatest from them with the nice rev limiter built in...might change out the guts of mine

I dropped in the Plug n Play Ignitor II a few years ago. Easy install. If you add their coil you'll need a full 12V to both the module and coil - so bypass the resistor wire.

Thanks for the replies. I'll add the electronic ignition on my 67 RS conv to do list.

When I had my Datsun 240z, I immediately switched the points to a pertronix ignitor. The car started much easier, but then again, the points might not have been set well or had gone out of adjustment. When I built my BBC for the Camaro, I decided I wanted to go old school, so I rebuilt the distributor with points. I haven't seen a problem with points yet, but then again I can't drive my car either. It was cool using the dwell meter to adjust things. Being a calibration tech, I like tweaking things, so maybe points are for me, but not most people.

I switched to an Ignitor 2 in my 64 Vette three years ago, the coil voltage comment above is important, I tore up a couple Petronix units before I figured that out.

I did have some trouble getting the rock hard plug from the bottom of the distributor..other than that a very easy install..all 3 times!
