i have a 1968 camaro and i was wondering if someone else has a similar combo.i would like to know what kind of times i can expect when i finish it.the engine is a 12.1 302.corvette heads with 205 valves.edelbrock victor jr intake with a 750 mecanical secondary speed demon carb.this combo is pro build by a pro stock racer who said it would probably dyno between 580 and 600 hp.the trans is a turbo 350 with a shift kit and a tci super street fighter 3800 stall torque converter. i have a 12 bolt rear that has everything in it new, including the richmond 3.73 gear.this combo is unterted at the track.but befofe i started the body work ,i did drive it up to 110 with the 10 blot 2.73 rear.the msd 6000 chip was in the rev limiter and it never wound high enough to activate the rev limiter.

where to start...
which "corvette" heads? old school camel backs or aluminum L98 heads- either way, i'd say your horsepower numbers are a bit on the "optimistic" side of things. you'd need a higher rev limiter on that thing- 6000 is about when a 302 STARTS making power. most 12:1 compression engines are actually anywhere from 9:1 to 10:1. with a 302, you would need a hell of a dome to make that kind of squeeze.
what's the cam specs?
i'd say it's a "true" low 13 second car, but in the world of bench racing, you are good for 10's, at least.

It also really depends on what kind of work was done on those heads.
One guy who does a "full port" on a set of heads can make 20 more HP (or less) than the next guy. Really hard to say.
Another thing is valve shrouding. Because of this, I am assuming you aren't using the L98 heads because 2.05 on those heads is either impossible, or will cause severe shrouding issues.
Depending on your cam, and the fact that 3.73's for a high-winding 302 is a fairly high gear, I would guess low 13's easy and mid 12's with a little work. Who knows...

Tim,
There's only one way to find out what it runs. RUN IT ;)
Based on the description it is more like 300 HP and low 14's/high 13's with traction.
I hope I'm wrong.

You will need WAY more stall speed and rear gear with a 3" stroke motor! I can tell you this from experience of running a .020" over 302" years ago in a '68 Nova. It had a true 11:1, ported Turbo heads with 2.05 intakes, Victor Jr and 750, a solid roller that was 262/272 @ .050" and .585" both sides on a 104 LSA, put in at 100. 12-bolt with Summer axles and MW spool and 5.86 Pro Gears, 10.5 x 30 Goodyears, a 'Glide with a 5000 stall speed 8" converter. It normally ran low 11's as a street car, and later got into the 10.80's. All steel but the hood, frame connectors, 6-point cage, and was just over 3000 lbs. 302's are not torque motors, and love to be revved. Unless you have a fairly stout cam and heads that flow at the 300-320 cfm area, you are not near the 600 HP mark. I would say look more to the 450-475 area, depending on cam, heads, etc.
