I needed to soften up the 60'from the previous 1.55 on the 100 shot.
Well i found away to soften the 60' up. I had 900 lbs of pressure and didn't prime the system. I also waited till 30' out to turn it on.

here's the #'s

Mild carbed 1985 corvette

1.644-60
7.036-1/8 ET
99.41 -1/8 MPH
10.982-1/4
124-1/4.

Goal achieved with a hyd cam of 460 lift. 218 @.050. This car could run 10.50's, but i would need a roll bar and a D-44 before pushing it any harder.

Thats flyin for a tiny cam and only a 100shot. graemlins/thumbsup.gif
Get that dana 44 and spray it off the line, because them Vettes squat and go!
Didnt you post before that its run low 12s / high 11s on motor, I remember it ran good for the mellow set up and 307 gear. Sounds like a smooth idle sleeper to me ;) Heck my truck is like a 2 stokre off the line with the 307 gear and 2000 stall. Love seeing mild street cars / sleepers fly!

67RS502,

The car has NO LOPE at all, nice and quiet, just like i want it for daily driving.

12.6 @ 109 1.85 60' motor
11.38 @ 118 1.55 60'100 shot
10.98 @124 1.64 60'( intentially) 150 shot

Yeah the D-44 would help, problem is i don't want a roll bar in my drive to work car.

I'm happy for now.

Great #'s on the truck.

10's on a 3.07 gear! Fantastic, Mike... feels good that some of my money is in there...lol Totally awesome times. What do you use for rubber at the track?

Nice! Do you know how much your car weighs? Are the Canfield's out-of-the-box? I've been debating AFR vs Canfield vs Dart Pro 1 for awhile now but lately I've been leaning towards Canfield ...

Mike, hellofa job,and on 3.07's is just outstanding. 12.6's on the motor alone? sweet. I hope to see that(mid-low 12's) soon maybe better, once I get these 3.73's in.

As for the rollbar, could just let it all hang out last run of night?

Jim,
thanks for the comtrabution. HEHE MT ET Drags slick 26X10X15

Chris88Z,
My car is light 3130 with driver (160 lbs). Still has PS, PB,CD, PW, elec seats. I basically removed the A/C stuff that's it.

As for the heads i wanted AFR 195 street competition, but decided not to wait the 8-10 weeks. I recieved these in 4 days and saved $300. I just plain didn't care for the Dart Pro-1's myself, from what i've seen the only guys that run good with them are race apps. ( high comp, big roller cams), not street set ups.

I personally think everyone should boycott AFR till they get this 8-10 week issue corrected..it's just simply redicilous. That's just my point though.

Doug G,
At some point i myself have to say it's not really safe with just a 1/16" thick plexiglass roof above your head.

See what I mean when I mouth off about that old .040" over, about 10 to 1 CR., 327 motor I gave my nephew running 12.9 with a 272/272 Energizer cam, headers and a small 1850 Holley with a small pair of real slicks on my M-20, 3.31 car!!

Build them for max. midrange grunt and gear and tire AND go run the dog outta them..

thanks guys.

yes, the heads are right out of the box...with a 30 min. delay to drool over them.

Sounds like some good head work, a 373gear/D44 and a 200shot could put your smooth idle daily driver in the 9.90s
It is light enough.
Ever think of that Mike?
Keep us posted on your progress graemlins/waving.gif

67RS502,

I have thought about it. We'll have to see what happens next year.

Nice times Mike!! I see you like your new Canfields. You have a lot of room to grow as some have mentioned. With some porting and a mild roller you could easily hit the 11's N/A and mid 10's on NOS. What has me baffled is you said the car weighs 3130 with you in it!! That's light as hell! How did you manage that??

hals 73.

Yes, i'm very happy with them. I'm thinking that the heads are too much for my motor combo, but i have always planned to spray it and their responding well.

I could go 10.60 right now if i sprayed it hard off the line. PLus i also plan to stup up from the 150 shot to 200.

As for the weight. A 1985 corvette weighs 3280 stock, with TPI. I switched over to a carb, tossed the A/C stuff and PS pump (5lbs), put front runners on it...that's it. The car weighed 2960 on the cat scales with 51% on the rear tires. I could get 200 more lbs out of it if i needed to. The seats weigh 65lbs for the 2, a summit plastice seat weighs 12 lbs. I weighed the mufflers with the pipes ( 60lbs) !!! Ravins are heavy i guess ?

I'd like to see the time slip!

mike 1978
Oct 25th, 04, 04:18 AM
well if you really want to see it run come to osceola , IN ( osceola dragway) on the 31st. HEHE. My friend did video tape it with his digital camera and transfered it to a VHS tape for me, then taped over the digital part with his kids. He's a new dad.

I do have the time slip i can bring to work and copy then fax to anyone that wants to post it here. Just let me know your fax #.

HEY DOUG G ..i found a 130 lb jockey for the 31st...the last hurrah of the year..not me driving.
As for the 31st i have the 200 shot in and i'm going to spray it off the line, if the rear end doesn't break i think it'll go 10.50 @130 ? We'll see though.

Mike
