I will be running 10.2:1 compression in my 355 race engine. What kind of fuel will I need to use? They are Speed Pro Cast Aluminum pistons and are not quite as strong as forged. Will 93 or 94 octane be ok, or a mix of that and race fuel?
Thanks,
Kevin

what size cam you running? What kind of heads? Are you running any sort of intake restrictor? How much timing you planning on putting into it?

I run 10.7:1 with iron heads, a 0.600ish lift camshaft on 91 octane and dont have any problems making the power without detonation. So I believe you could most likely run 91, 92, 93.....without problems as well.

Look up PatKelly and his Dynamic Compression ratio Calculator site. Either here or over at Team Chevelle...
Pat has a lot of good info to help you put stuff in perspective on CR. and octane requirements... pdq67
