Hello all,

Was thumbing through the latest Summit catalog yesterday. I ran across a set of Dart 1.94/1.50 165cc heads with 72cc? chambers. The price was $795 per set?(Sorry, don't have the catalog handy at the moment)

Sounds like they may work good on 327's or street oriented 350's. Anyone know the flow #'s for these heads? Or better yet, how they run on a 327 or 350? This might be a good alternative if the Vortec's don't work out.

Thanks,
Mark P.

Mark,
I have not used those small Dart Iron Eagle S/S heads before but I did purchase a pair of Dart Iron Eagles yesterday. I bought a pair of 200cc with 64cc chambers for my 350 Vette project. I like the special bronze alloys used for the guides. I got them from Racer's Outlet on Ebay. They seem to have very good deals on them. I got mine for $689 plus $60 for shipping.

I would be buying the regular Dart Iron Eagle 180's for a 327 IMHO. You could get those for the same price and that is the size Dart recomends for "Street performance, maximun torque and throttle response under 350 ci". I have a DD2K flow file I could e-mail you if you need it.

I wonder how much different the Dart S/S are from the Dart S/Rs which I have(now they are sold by World Products)... I've seen some flow numbers from the Dart S/S heads after a mild pocket porting and they flowed in the 230/170@.500 range which is pretty good.

Mark(Stingr69),

It would be great if I could get a DD2k flow file for the Dart Iron Eagle 180's. I'm also looking at the Top-Proline 180's too.

Shoot me an e-mail. Mpippin1@Juno.com

Thanks,
Mark

The World products heads do not have bronze alloy guides. They have just cast iron to ride in and we all know how long those will last. Same as a stock GM head.

The heads sold by Dart have 2 different bronze alloy guides. One type is used exclusively on the exhaust, one type is used exclusively on the intake. Better mousetrap IMHO.

I think they used to be one company but there was a split I believe a few years ago. Both make a good product but I prefer the Dart type over the World Products mainly because of the guides. JMO smile.gif
