Need some opinions, I have a 67 camaro SS, with 355, I am running a old set of headers called super scavengers, they are 1 5/8 tubes, with a 2 1/2 ft long collector,
Question, I want to run the exhaust turned out in front of rear wheel, which means I will have about a 18 inch tailpipe, which muffler should I use, good mellow tone, that the inside noise will not give you a headake, and not have to break into a cold sweat everytime a cop car pulls up. I will try to use 2 1/2 inch pipes.
any ideas

I put street sweeper on my 327. They are sorta quiet at idle and cruise (no resonation) but ler people know you are coming when you get on it. I like them alot better than peoples flo masters.

ALso for a lower tone you may want to try flo-pros. My uncles 406 sounds nice with them.

I just put a pair of Dynomax Super Turbos on my 69. They are supposed to flow well, but be quieter than Flowmasters. I like the sound: quiet at idle and a mellow growl at cruising speed.

Are you using full tailpipes with your dynomax mufflers, or turning out in front of the rear wheel?

I'm actually using modified flowmaster tailpipes that run out the back. I should also mention that I am running an x pipe into the mufflers, which changes the sound quite a bit. I just know that the Dynomax are ALOT quieter than whatever mufflers were on it when i got it! No more ringing ears on the highway. http://www.camaros.net/forum/wink.gif
