i got this catolage from classic industries the heater box assembly says 1967-1975 i was just wondering if the box will fit on a 1980. the year of my car well i am restoring it and right now i am working on the fire wall. i have every thing striped right down to the frame right now the frame is off and is being grinded then sandblasted to get in to the cracks. the reason i need to get a new heater box is wear it bolts on it is broken the metal hole is broken and i was thinking about geting the heater box chromed is that trick are what?.I was also wondering if that chorme paint works well and is there any recomended i was thinking of using it on my firewall this is my first restoration.

Stay away from the chrome paint. It's just silver paint with a haevy metallic accent. In my opinion you should paint you firewall body color or a semi gloss black. You will be thankful for the black because it will camouflage any leaks/road grime/etc. over the years. Can you imagine all of the greasy fingerprints on a silver firewall after installing you motor? The only thing I used the chrome paint for was my pulleys. Looks better than basic black but it's still not chrome or aluminum. Cheap dress-up, though.

thank you for the advice there is this zinc paint though for $70 dallors a can it changes to diffrent shades of matellic when looked at it from diffrent angels it is in the classic indestries catoluge has any body used tha stuff before are is it just a wast of money for the firewall i was just thinking to use the chrome paint on the firewall instede of a sheet of stainless steal to save some time and money plus i dont have any idea how to make it i am only 19 this is my first restoration is there any place around that sells a chorm cover for the firewall? my car is a 1980 camaro
