Can a Canister type filter system (Canister/PF 141 filter) be made to work on a Gen VI BBC? From my research, the mounting boss for the filter looks to be different on the Gen VI block. I am putting a Gen VI (ZZ454) in a 1967 Camaro and would like to keep utilizing my old trusty Canister.

I doubt it, it's a completely different setup than gen iv. The oil filter stud screws into the block. The bypass is pressed into the block instead of being in the housing as well.

You can run something similar to the old school canister type, both of my cousins dragsters have these http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SOF-209-512561/Which you can remove the canister, inspect, clean filter, and re install. I'm sure you can find one cheaper one cause $164 is alot of dough for that set up, I just posted the link so you could get an idea of what I'm talking about.
