I just got done with my car. I put a 96 vette LT1 in it. I took off all the emmision stuff and got rid of the mafs and it is only running the alt. I put hooker comp long tubes to a 2 1/2 flowmaster american thunder sound system.(no cats)Other than that the motor is pretty much stock. I also put in the ZF six speed with a .373 limited slip rear. Ill probly run BF drag radials on a 15 or 17 inch wheel thats 8 inches wide. Im hoping to run in the high to mid 12s. Am I just dreaming or is it a posibility.Let me know what you guys think.
Thanks

High to mid 12s is too high of an expectation for a stock LT1. I would say mid to high 13s.

Since most LS1 4th Gens can only get into the low 13's, fairly stock, I would think you might be expecting a little much. I know the difference between the LT1 and LS1 can really be felt when you hammer the loud pedal. With heads, cam and intake mods you might be able to get to the high 12's, maybe better but your looking to spend some coin. Good luck.

E man Without the mafs what did you do to the computer? Without the mafs the computer doesn't know how much air flow is entering the engine and it won't know how much fuel to add to keep the mixture optimal...
I may be wrong but modern computer controled engines (LT1, LT4, LT5, LS1 and LS6) are designed around the computer and emissions is actually an intrigal part of their performance.

Im runnig a close loop fuel injection harness. I had it and the computer done by ccs motorsports in texas. At first I thought i had to run all the emmision stuff and the mafs with the motor but the guy at ccs said they do cars like this all the time and they run pretty good
