: Holley Carb Differences

A friend is looking to buy a new Holley for his Cobra replica with a 351W. He is considering a 4779-C and a 0-9379. Both are 750 CFM DP's. The 4779 is the carb I am most familiar with. The 0-9379-C has annular discharge boosters and comes with a choke horn but no choke. Both have four corner idle. Any recommendations or experience with either carb?

Thanks for all replies!

Go with the annular they have very good throttle response.

I agree with Oger. The throttle response is incredible with annular discharge boosters. I made the switch to annular a few years back and am sold on them. As with everything there is a draw back, since the boosters are som much larger "they can hurt airflow at real high RPM's". I didn't lose anything up top but I only spin my engine to 6500 max. If he doesn't buzz it to 7000 I don't think he will see any loss up top. If he wants a real responsive and snappy running car then he will like the annular boosters.

Thanks for the replies. The carbs seem very similar other than those differences mentioned.

He won't be running it to 7,000 RPM on account of it's a Ford and all.
