I have the plans to build a rotisserie from my 67 so going to do that in the next month or so... Some time ago I stood the car up on end, sandblasted and painted the underbody with GM OEM Chassis black. I need to roll it and redo the underbody with DP 90 as I am concerned about the longevity of the GM chassis black....

My question is this, is it better to attach the body to the rotisserie with or without the subframe attached? Right now the subframe is off and has been powder coated already so trying to decide whether to mount it back to the body before putting it on the rotisserie....

Also, what are the best body mount points (front and rear) for the rotisserie???

Thanks......

I've done 2 camaros on a homemade rotisserie, both without the subframe attached. I bolted the front arms to the front subframe attach points at the cowl. For the rear; I use an old bumper attached with 3/8" Grade 8 Hardware to the car. I cut the bumper corners off and did not use the corner mounts. Both cars were hard tops and I had a stabilizer/connecting bars attached to keep the load off the car. The only thing I did not replace was the trunk panels while on the rotissere. If I was going to do the trunk panels, I had made some brackets that attached at the rear frame rails for added security.

I have a rather unconventoinal rotisserie, but I too used the front subframe attachment points. For the rear I use the rear shackle location with the factory rubber bushings.

Same bird mounted at Front subframe points . I have another set of brackets that catch both frt and rear subframe mounting points ,(for use with a weaker car) but I can't find a pic of them in use.

A camaro could be suspended the same way if your rotisserie will carry the weight.
