No..not that length!
When converting to rear disks after installing the rotors (Right Stuff Kit)
the axle studs are too short. Does anyone know how long they should be?
I know...loaded question! I'm going with rallys for now.

The disc brake rotor should be about 1/8" thicker than the drum where it slips over the axle. If you have some of the stud showing through the end of the lugnut you should be fine. If not, measure your current wheel studs and get some that are just a bit longer - 1/4" to be safe.

Yes, measure the length needed, then visit an older parts store with Dorman products, the drawers full of hardware, and buy the min length needed.

I got my longer rear studs a NAPA, # 641-1267, they are 1.75 long.

I just put the Right Stuff rears on the '67. I used Dorman 610-157 2-1/8". I had to cut them off and taper the ends. I "think" I cut off 1/4" but I didn't measure the finished product. I used my lugs to measure what I needed to cut so someone else could be different based on the depth of the lugs and seats of the wheel. I can pull a lug tonight and measure the amount on the wheel side of the rotor if that will help. BTW O'reily had the best price @ $1.69 each.

These may save you a lot of work: http://www.gorilla-auto.com/lug.nuts.page_09
As you found out when you put the rotor on your studs are too short, at least for safety reasons. Your lug nut should grab at least the diameter of the stud, 7/16". These nuts reach in (.300) so you'll have the minimum covered. They'll save you a ton of work.

When I swapped to some new rims recently I found the rear studs were a little short and got me some of these from Prodigy. They had the right size, great price, shipped 'em righ away and excellent service. These got me well back within the ballpark and sure saved a lot of work. Everybody should be using these type of lugs in my opinion - to me seems like would maintain the wheel centered in more solid mechanial fashion and the extra threads wrapping the stud can't hurt.
