Pretty easy, go to home depot/lowes and get some stainless oval phillips head screws. I think there is only 5 needed.

He asking how hard is it to get to them to remove the moldings with a new top on the car. I'm in the same situation, but havn't looked at doing so because of the cold.

oops :), you cannot get to them with the rear trim sticks of the top installed on the car. You have to take the screws out of the trim sticks and lower them in the well to gain access to them.

My oh My...My molding isn't secure and is comming up off the body (trunk lid side) Can I fix this at home??? The top is really tight.

Tom, the screws really dont hold it on, more like securing it. The internal clips hold it on. If a clips or two came off, you might be able to see them and get it reclipped. If they are pulling off the pinch weld, then you have to unscrew the back of the top and pull off the molding, put some alum tape on the weld to make the clip grip better and reinstall. Not a fun job, sorry

so for the best/easies methid - the pinchweld clips should be installed before a new top goes on - is that correcT?

Pinchweld clips go on the pinchweld first, then molding is pushed down (both pieces together!) and then the vert top is screwed in.

Oh yes, rain gutter goes in right after paint, protect the qtrs, cause you will be dragging over the body trying to figure out how it goes in! I had to trim the inner edge a little to get it under in the qtr areas.

Do you mean putting the top frame on the car? I just set mine back on, and it's pretty easy. Are your spring assemblies still attached to the frame?

If they are, take them off, and slide them into the pockets from the bottom. You'll see how they go up in there. Just line up the 3 bolt holes. Then you'll see the top frame has 2 mounting points. The front mounting point goes to the bracket, and the rear goes to the spring assembly.

I have another thread (68vert) on here that Eric posted some really good top frame pics in. Good luck... Brian

Brian, i was really looking for the actual top material.

i have a power top and i think i have it installed correctly for the most part. Was thinking of tackling the top material installation myself too and looking for some reference pics.
