I Think that i am getting slight wheel hop on my car. I cant feel it hopping but the marks that it leaves sure look like it is with darker marks about every 2 feet or so. This concerns me beacause i am leaving off foot brake at 2500 rpm, and i wand er what it will do when i leave of transbrake at 4500 at the track.

Could it be somthing else or will i need to get the cal-traks or slide-a-links?
Thanks

It sounds like you need to get adjustable shocks and stiffen them up a little. I have Rancho 9 ways on my wifes camaro and when the track is biting good we will get the same pattern, then 2 clicks stiffer it goes away.

On my last Camaro, the SSM bars did nothing to help my wheelhop. I beleive part of the problem was due to my old, rubber bushings.

What type of shocks give you the best of both worlds. I like a stock like feel when I am cruising but when I run her at the track I would like to be able to adjust them accordingly. Any suggestions?

Competition Engineering CE 3 Way Adjustable shocks for both front and rear. They are reasonably priced and will work fine when set up right. Tire choice and air pressure are a factor also.

Most people do very well on cheap shocks found at any parts store...

We used the CE shocks but was never able to get it to hook well or consistently. Going with the Rancho 9000 made all the difference in the world. Her best 60' was 1.59 but averaged 1.65 until the change, now her best is a 1.49 with average at 1.52

So how does this work. If I want a stock feel to my ride I set it on a setting for that. Then when I want to run the car I can adjust the shocks to act more like a drag racing shock?

The rancho's have 9 adjustments from soft to hard. Find the spot you like for the street then at the track adjust for traction. For example, with wheel hop or when the tires are unloading you would most likely stiffen the shock to keep the axle in place then on a slippery track you would want to loosen them etc. They are easy to adjust, just reach under and count the clicks.

What do they go for?

Tell ya what, I've never really liked my CE 3 way shocks. Its difficult to tell where they are set at - its a crapshoot IMO. If I had it to do over, I'd just get some Lakewood 90/10's and call it good.

I have my CE's set on 90/10 and I never change the setting. When I take a long road trip I just swap out the CEs for some cheapo Monroe gasmatics. It only takes about 10 minutes to change the front shocks --- I do it with the front tires still on and with the car on the ground.

The CE shocks are very simple to adjust. The valve pack at the bottom of the shock is built with three ramps that repeat three times around the circumference of the shock. The easiest way to set them is by fully compressing them and rotaing the shaft clockwise listening for the clicks. You should hear two soft clicks and then one loud click the loud click is the first setting the next soft click is the second setting and the last soft click is the third setting. It then repeats two more times. If you bought your shocks in the last four years you have the latest valve design, before that they had some problems.
