Can a 305 ECM controller (305 TPI) handle 350 TPI injectors? I'm thinking it can because of the same coil resistance between the two models.

And what is the difference between the injectors?

Thanks.

I've heard of people running the 305 (19lbs) injectors on a 350. The 350 has 22lbs injectors.
I'm sure it could with an adjustable FPR.

it will run, but wont run well (MAF system anyway)... you need the injectors, prom, knock sensor and the esc module...

Thanks for your replies. Here's the deal....car originally a 305 TPI. Previous owner(s) swapped out the 305 long block and installed an 89 Corvette 350 long block and kept the 85 305 TPI ECM system, which includes all electronics you've mentioned. Including an aftermarket 350 chip.

I'm suspecting the 305 injectors where left intact in the TPI manifold. I have a "sticky" injector, I think. If I'm going to replace injectors, I might as well replace with 350 injectors vice 305 injectors.

I'm just wondering if the 305 controller would handle the load?

i'm pretty sure the computer and all wiring is the same between the 2 engines- just the calibration wuld be different, which is why they put removable prom chips in them in the first place.

there is something called an injector constant
the different sizes are a different constant
the bigger injectors wouldn't need to run @ as high of a duty cycle as the smaller ones
you can put the bigger 22s (or 24s from an LT1) in an run, you'll prob'ly be a little rich

the AFPR isn't a bad idea, turn the pressure down a bit might just work

why on God's green earth would someone put 19s in a 350 that came with 22s???????????

Thanks to y'all for the suggestions. Yes novaderrick, it appears the same harness is used.

fast, thanks for the tips. I assume they kept the 19 lb injectors b/c they were free and came with the manifold. Installing an AFPR seems alittle tight to adjust once its in place.

I have been informed that a chip is NECESSITY

turning the fuel pressure down won't help
the injector is still bigger and staying open the same amount of time

Okay. Decision time here, do I spend an enormous amount of money for reman injectors, ie, $76/ea local, $57/ea through www.expressautoparts.com, (http://www.expressautoparts.com,) or change over to carb/hi-rise alum manifold, I already own?

The TPI is very responsive and does show some spunk. I realize, if I went carb, I would have to disable the tank fuel pump, attach an external lower pressure pump. Or, use the existng set-up and T off with a regulator.

buy a used set off ebay and get a chipped burned, it's not all that expensive to have done

thirdgen.org to find a chip burner

can also hit
camaroz28.com
lt1tech.com
ls1tech.com
to scope out some cheap injectors

Yes, read the article some time ago for burning a chip @ thirdgen.org. I'll have to check the local parts paper for used injectors.....Thanks
