Im looking for a rollor rocker arm that will clear stock 69 Z/28 vale covers. I have been told the stainless Crower and Comp rockers clear fine but not wanting to give $300 for them.

Thanks guys.

I run large roller rockers under low chrome valve covers.I pinched the baffles a bit and glued 2 valvecover gaskets together to get extra clearance.I have very large die cast rockers. Some rockers like older Crane aluminum rockers have a much narrower body.I have seen many aluminum rockers with the corners ground off the pushrod side of the rocker.Harland Sharp rockers are fairly compact, and take well to grinding on the conersnd edges.Good luck.

Comp cams Magnum roller tipped stamped rockers will fit fine under them. I have a set on a motor I'm building now with .520 lift on exhaust, .510 on the intake and they clear with no problems or modification to the covers, and room to spare. These run about $170 for the ones that require guide plates, $195 for self aligning ones. If you have ARP rocker studs better get a set of poly locks too - poly locks are required for those studs due to the thread grade (I found out the hard way).

Make sure you check the clearance as well. Use some modeling clay on the top of the rockers put the covers back on and manually rotate the crank 720*, then measure the thickness of the clay. Cheap peace of mind.
