I'm looking to buy a set of headers and I'm looking at the ceramic coated 1 5/8 from several different manufactures. I'm interested to know who has the longest lasting coating and best fit. I have read previous posts about the dynomax fitting well but having the coating fall off. These are in the price range I would prefer but I want them to look good for a long time. Opinions Please !!! Thanks Steve

Jet-Hot does the Dynomax headers, (so they say) and I've installed several sets on various cars, and years later they still look great.
The Hooker coating has dulled on every set I've installed.
IMO, Dynomax are a great deal.

hey, if you want the best, then by a set of either hooker comps or super comps, black then send out to be stripped and ceramic coated, inside and out, most come only outside, which as you know some of the gases and moisture in exhaust will cause it to rust after time, i bought mine like this, i had a new motor and they reccomended breaking in my motor first with them black, then i sent them to be ceramic coated and mine were done inside and out, i paid 160 for the headers and 210 to have them coated i live in maine and had NHTC coat them they are in concord,NH, and they did a great job, this is how i would go, but goodluck

I just sent a brand new set of hooker supercomps to JetHot in Mississippi, they were coated inside and out and look great, mine were 2" and cost $299 to have coated, took only 4 days to get em back, including the shipping.

I had a set of Thorley tri-y headers Jet Hot coated. They look great, and I think the coating will be very durable. The header fit was pretty good. The passenger side collector could have been placed in the crossmember notch a little better, but I can't complain too much.

I spoke with a friend of mine that has been working on Camaros for years. He also happens to own an exhaust shop. He strongly recommended the tri-y Thorley's. Good enough for me. I went with them. They look fantastic, and are made of thick steel rather than the thin junk headers you sometimes see.

I've had excellent luck with Airborn Coatings-- had my entire exhaust done in/out in 1998 and still looks new. Also used there piston coatings and powder coating with excellent luck. -Dan

I have the dynomax, fit is not as good as I would expect the pipe from the #5 cyl touched the steering box and needed some hammering. I plan stay away from headers made to fit so many diffenrt vehicles in the future.
