I have heard about some roller rockers for the new style center bolt vavle covers but they are just so expensive. What motors did GM put roller rockers on I know they put them on the LT4 but what did that motor come in. Did the LT1 get rollers, cause they are common and easier to find in junkyard. I guess I just want to get by cheap. Plus can some one DD this combo
355
9.72-1 forged pistons
rpm vortec intake
bowl blended vortecs can you do anything more to these heads then just take that ridge out? Is it true that if you polish the exhaust runners it helps?
XE274 cam
plain rockers or Roller rockers which ever the ones I find at the yard, 1.5 ratio though
750 carb
1-5/8 headers
open exhaust
Im hoping for mid 12's in a 3200 pound car with 3.73 and a M20
Any suggestions good or bad wanted, dont be shy! Thanks

The cheapest aftermarket rockers I know of for vortec heads is the guided comp cams magnum roller tip rockers...they go for roughly $200 a set. However, even with stock rockers, I think with good traction you are already capable of mid 12's in a 3200 pound car.

Ok thanks, I was just wondering in the roller rockers only came on the Lt4 or did they come on the Lt1 and L98 motor. I know roller rockers where on the LT4.

If you want to do some work on the intake side, remove the carbide bit from your grinder and put the abrasive rolls on. Just touch up on the outside wall and between that area and the valve guide. Don't do anything else.

On the exhaust side, you can cut away on the short side radius, this is where most of the flow is. Then you can polish it up. You'd be amazed at what those can do.

Ok thanks, I hope to have the motor running in a couple of days for my customer and hope to get a report back in a few weeks on how it runs I will try to remember to post it.
