I currrently have a 350 sb bored 40 over, with steel crank, steel rod's & light wt flat top piston's.Rated at 10 1/2 compression. I was going to use Lt1 head's with 2.02/1.60stright plug's.But everyone is telling me to use fast burner's.If I do this will I be able to use my Lt1 highrise intake? If not, could a machine shop modify the intake to work>?I am told that the fast burner's are for fuel injection set up's,but if I use them I could get 400 plus in HP.Thank's for any advice.

You may want to check with some header companies to find out if they make fastburn headers for your car. Last I heard the word was "No".

Thank's Greg & Carl for the info.I didn't think about the header's.I'll have to ask the member's here if they make header's for the fast burner's.

I've seen it stated that a fastburn head was made by taking a LT-4 head and having it professionaly ported, and using that as the mold. So it should deffinitaly be better than an LT-1 head.

Gentlemen,
I have a set of fastburns bolted onto a 383 I just got done screwing together.
Although the heads are drilled for both the new Vortec and the older style intake manifolds, I recommend you stay away from the old style intake unless it was either designed or modified for raised ports. The ports on the fastburn heads are "taller" and will not port match well with conventional old style intakes. I used an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake for Vortec heads(similar to the old aluminum high rise intake used on early Z28s).
There are two sources of headers. If you are running an auto tranny you can use Hedmann headers sold by Pace Pontiac. The tubes they sell are 3/4 length, but will not clear your clutch linkage. The other source is Sanderson headers, which makes a set of "shorty" style headers designed specifically for fastburn heads.
What is so special about the fastburn heads that they need special headers? Raised, D shape exhaust ports and angle plugs. I know of no source of full length headers for fastburns yet.
