Looking to get some street tires soon and wanted to see what everyone likes. They will be 18.5, or 21.5 and the choice looks like hoosier, or mickey thompson. What does everyone like, bias, or radial? Thanks

It all depends on what kinda tire you want and what kinda driving you will be doing. Are you looking for a tire to drive in the rain,,just incase your caught in the rain? Do you want tires with traction? Do you want a tire for normal street driving. I personally have had them all.

Mickey Thompson 21.5- Good street tire but not very good traction
Mickey Thompson Pro 21.5 - Good street tire with a little bit better traction
Mickey Thompson ET Street 18.5- Good tire, great traction, lousy in the rain, scary
Mickey Thompson SR Rail 22- Great street tire, Great in the rain, lousy traction
Hoiosier Quick Time Pro- Great tire, Great traction, lousy in the rain

Out of all the tires above I would not have the SR Radials. They made my car rock back and forth when you got on it hard and I dont like the side wall look. But they are a great cruisin tire and handled great going down the highway at 75 mph.

I like the big tire slick look.

I have bias ply 19.50 wide Mickey Thompsons on my Camaro. I'm curious as to why your width selection doesn't include this size. I would run the widest tire that you can safely fit under the car without clearance issues.

I asked about those sizes because both make them, the only one i saw with 19.5 was MT and i figure it will perform similar to the 18.5, and 21.5. I also agree with sticking as much as i can fit under the car.

Out of the ones you mentioned i think the QT pros are in the lead. Any experience with the hoosier quick time, Or the Pro Street radials?

I thought about the M/T Radial until I saw what prostreet69camaro(Mike) posted about them....don't think I'll try them. As for the Hoosier QuickTime tires.....If they made them in a 19.50" width I'd buy them as I cannot fit the 21.50" wide tire under my Camaro......clearance issues:(.

I had thought about M/T also, maybe the Hoosier Pro Street Radial is better but not sure about traction.

Check out this link to Hoosier's Pro Street Radial Tires........webpage says "Excellent wet traction & braking"

Any of the radial tires have no traction. The only ones are the MT ET Street or Hoosier Quick Time Pro. They look and feel like a slick but they have grooves in them to be DOT approved.
