Hey you engine build guys,
I need some info/clarification. I got a CompCams XR280R-10 complete cam kit which came with the 2100 CompCams timing chain set. CompCams said this timing set was machined for a wear plate. I ordered the CCA-201 Moly-coated plate but the cam timing gear doesn't appear to be machined for this plate. Will these two parts work together without throwing the gears alignment off? Will I have to machine this gear or just order another timing set? I'm trying to make sure I have everything ready but the block is in getting bored/honed so I can't mock it up just yet. I have been getting yes and no anwsers from Comp - I all depends on who I talk too????? They say - well just order the 3100KT which is $160.00 bucks and comes with a T-bearing. I would have ordered this chain in the kit if I could have, but to order the pieces individually it would have costed $212.00 more plus the additional charge for the 3100KT timing set! Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Tski
