Rear View Mirror Restoration
Are there any good resto shops that do this?
My friend wants to redo his and asked me where to go.

You can check your local antique shops that get mirrors resilvered all the time. Also glass shops in your area.
Are you concerned about taking the glass out yourself? There are many articals if you do a search for doing just this. cost for resilvering the mirror 15-40 bucks. :)
You can also check your local auto plating shops they usually have a handle on those that do it also or look after the whole process.

I know for one thing is is that he is concerned about the gasket trim surrounding the stainless housing and the glass itsself.
I think his is very brittle and could possibly break apart when removed.
I guess I can call around here locally regarding the resilvering.
Thats a start; Thanx!

There are some threads here and over on our sister site chevell that walk you through the process. I hear the concerns over the glass removal but the plastic strip is a cinch and the least of the worry. Usually the glue has aged significantly that it is not a problem. Common sense and patience will get the job done without incident.

I tried a search but no results; maybe I am not selecting the proper word type requests.

OK, well, so far your links have given me a good start in resolving this.
I found a local shop who could possibly do this process.
Once I speak to them regarding me needs, I will post here those results.
My Camaro's rear view mirror also needs some small attention so if this process works for my friend thru this shop, I will inquire for my car's needs and list thise results as well.
Thanx Again!

Page 16 of this online magazine gives a nice overview of the removal process:
