I had the paint store put one of the interior shades of green in a spray can so i could paint all the bars with my spray gun first except for the ends, then touch up the welded joints after i was done.its just low gloss lacquer over etch primer.

steve, whats the OD size on the cage tubing? does anybody pad the 45 degree bar next to the driver? painting most of the cage and then touching up the welds sounds like a really good call.

The tubing is 1-5/8" .134" wall mild steel. I bought a complete 12 point cage from Chris Alston. I put padding on the door bars and the bar up by the roof.

Had to bring this back as I'm in the process of fitting my cage. Does anyone have pics of where the main hoop attaches to the floor? I was test fitting the main hoop and saw that it looks like it will mount over a thin galvanized sheet that covers wiring. Did you guys take that out? Any help/pics would be appreciated. BTW I've got the Chassisworks 8-point roll cage. Thanks.

Cut the tailend off where you need

PS: watch the wires.

I removed them from my car for the cage install. Once the cage was finished I trimmed them to fit.
