I am planning on building a new exhaust system for my car and i was wondering what you guys think about an x-pipe system. I am going to run 2.5" pipe off the headers into either spin tech mufflers or i will keep my 40 series...not sure yet. Anyways what are the advantages\disadvantages to x-pipe systems?? Are they worth the time and effort?? (Building it myself) Thanks for the help!!

hey do a search under "X pipe" we have rehashed it several times, you will find some great info under the threads.

ok, one more question, will the x-pipe cut down on interior sound resonance? My 40 series are about to drive me nuts cruising down the road, and i couldnt really find any threads that said one way or the other. thanks for the help

I would assume so since it theoretically only directs 1/2 of the exhaust gasses to each muffler. It made my ride quieter.

my 3" X pipe w/ delta 40's is suprisingly quiet, i do get some resonance at low speed though.

my parents say that even at 2am the other night it was no louder than my neighbors HEMI 1500's stock exhaust

i can talk to my g/f, but i do have to raise my voice.
