I would like to know what headers to use on a 1969 Camaro. It has a 350 with a th350 tranny, ac, and powering steering. Any help would be appreciated thanks http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif

I have the same drivetrain in my '69 and run Hooker super comp coated headers. They clear everything well with the exception of the A/C box. I have a small notch cut out of mine that I then sealed with some custom bent sheet metal...

I used the Doug Thorley Tri-Y headers. They are nickel plated, look good and produce lots of torque. I have the same basic set up with a 383 and a 350 turbo, air, power steering, brakes, etc. Works great for me. My engine builder recommended them, and he used to race with Smokey Yunick. That tells me something.

That tells me he is old. Seriously I have Thorley's on my Camaro too. They fit nice but the nickel plating looks like crap after three years. Though they looked good for 2 years. Get HPC or Jet Hot if you can, they are much better looking in the long run.

Does Thorley offer their headers with ceramic coating? I checked a couple of years ago and they didn't - you also couldn't get them without the chrome so I stayed away.

Has anybody tried the Dynomax headers that are Jet-Hot coated inside and out, and cost around $210 in Jeg's catalog?

I put a pair of those on my car this summer. They look nice,and they still have the nice coated look. I dont think u can beat them for the cost.

I had bought a set of Hooker Comp headers
(blk huggers) i couldn't get them to
clear the steering box
(i am running power steering)
but i had about 4 guys tell me that they could get them to mount with out a problem.
so i am still wondering what am i to do
for headers, everybody tells me to go with
full leanth headers.
(just something to consider)
