I have a 1967 Camaro RS Old LT1 350 engine, Aluminum Edlebrock Torker intake manifold, cast iron 461 heads with new 770cfm GMPP Holley carb, 1 inch aluminum carb spacer, new AC Delco machanical fuel pump with 3 eighth's inch outlet. Does just fine until shortly after engine reaches normal operating temperature 180 degree thermostat, and a glass see thru inline fuel filter. Somehow the fuel filter begins to have less and less fuel in it until there is barely a tricle of fuel going through it. Amazingly it still runs but doesn't like to idle when this happens, I have always heard the term vapor lock but this is the first time I have had it happen, I started working on cars at age 14 and I'm 50 now. Is this vapor lock? if so what causes it?, and how do I combat the problem? I was thinking of installing an electric fuel pump in conjunction with the machanical pump but it seems this would do little to curb the vapor lock if that is the case.

Welcome to team camaro!
Is your fuel pump old?
Make sure your fuel lines or hoses are not next to anything hot, like ..
Headers, engine block and so on...
Is your gas tank vented properly?

Throw out that glass fuel filter. Years ago my friend's 'Cuda burned to the ground because of one.

I actually had a similar problem. Couldn't actually see that the carb wasn't getting gas (because I didn't have a glass filter) but as the car warmed up it would idle very poorly and not run very well. Ran fine until it got hot.
I replaced my carb spacer with one made of some type of composite material. Almost felt like wood. Maybe it was. Anyway, the theory is that it doesn't conduct heat as well as alum. That solved it. I can hunt down the part no if you're interested. I got it from Summitt. I have an Edlebrock alum intake and carb set up...

i thought that vapor lock means that your fuel is vapourising as a result of heat.
are you sure that the fuel line coming from the tank is ok ?
because you say the filter is getting empty.
sometimes there is alot of debris in the tank that clogs up the pickup.

Thats where I would lay my money, and check there is not a filter put in the line near the rear, behind the wheel and is bloxk....replace
2nd choice:
There is a air leak in the fuel lines between the input of the pump and tank
3rd...pump has sucked a kumura.
