Just looking for some opinions on the Proform Race Series carbs. I'm looking at picking one up for my big-block project. Don't need opinions on proper carb size, just wanting to know how they ran out of the box, did they require a lot of tuning, craftsmanship, etc. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

Good question, but anything right out of the box at WOT is risky on a melt down.

I bought a Proform off of ebay that was a dyno carb ???? I ended up giving it away because I couldn't sell it and sleep at night. I gave it to 2 of my friends Both drag racers and they could never get it to run right, I called the carb shop, the guy laughed at me and said they're junk and not to waste anymore $$$$$.

They look pretty, but look at all the other products proform sell that are kinda sketchy.
No carb out of the box will run exactly right unless you give them your specs, even then, it's still a hit or miss.
My friend had decent luck out of the box with a Demon 750 manual secondaries, even then we had to make a few adjustments. BBC 427 330rwhp 6spd.

That's the kind of feedback I was looking for, thanks.

Look on Ebay for Holley reman carbs... I bought a 0-9380 850cfm chokeless race carb out of the box for right around $400! It works excellent! You might be able to find a 950 HP on there for less than what you would buy the Pro Form for... I haven't had much luck with Pro-Form products... but that is me...

I forgot to mention that these carbs are bought directly through Holley just on Ebay...
