No the heater core is removed from the inside. The blower motor is under the right fender. Some have made a access hole in the inner fender, some have removed the inner fender and some have removed the right fender. Either way it is a very hard job.

Not hard at all, just time consuming. You can actually pry the bottom of the fender out, block it, and reach your paw in there for nut access. I've R&R'd the fender by myself on flawless cars to do it with zero damage. I believe the service manual instructs the former but I've done the latter.

I use to remove the blower of my 69. I have the manual of how to remove it. I will provide it to you. Can I know your contact information?
