Hey guys, my car will not start in park or neutral but if I shift it between N and D it turns over and starts up. First I thought I had a dead battery but everything else works and the battery is charging like normal. What could be the problem? I also had my tranny rebuilt last week and it had this problem ever since. Im taking it back to my mechanic tomorrow but just curious if this is something simple that I can take care of.

They need to adjust the linkage to activate the "Nuetral Safety Switch" correctly.
It's an easy adjustment - can't believe they wouldn't have got it correct during the work, but maybe something's changed ...

So what exactly is involved in adjusting the linkage? I think i'll just go down and tell him about that. Thanks for your help!
