I saw where you ran a couple engine combos through your computer, and it gavce ET estimates and HP and TQ numbers. Eric ran mine, and wondered if you would as well to see what it shows and ET predictions?
4200 lbs
4.11 gears
3000 stall
406
11:1
Dart Pro 1 215cc heads
Edelbrock RPM intake with 1/2" spacer
Holley 750 HP series carb
Comp 294s solid, 294 adv. with 248@.050 and .560 lift with Comp Magnum 1.6 rockers
6" Eagle rods
1 5/8 headers and 2.5" exhaust
MSD Probillet with 6AL box
andything to compare would be awesome...thanks! smile.gif graemlins/beers.gif

Tracy,
I'd estimate high 12's with that combo. Only the track will tell you for sure.

If I can get this big thing into the 12's...I'll be a happy camper! :D graemlins/thumbsup.gif

The exhaust system seems to be generating some losses. I used a 1-5/8" x 30" street header with a 10" collector. Changing to a 1-3/4" x 40" system with a 20" merge collector and a good crossover adds some power:

The e.t. depends a lot on the setup. Tires? wheelbase? %weight on rear wheels? suspension? drag coefficient? tranny? shift point?
My SWAG car went 12.44 @ 106.69 with a 1.94 60' with the first motor and 12.17 @ 109.15 with a 1.88 60' with the new exhaust, shifting at 6500.

Thanks, it's a LWB truck, and I'll be using 27.5" ET Streets. Last time I ran it, with the 383, I got a 1.89 60'..and that was with 28.2" tall tires. Not sure of weight over wheels, and shift point is around 6200-6300.
Tranny is a TH350 and will manually shift it.
Suspension is stock for now, but later plan to do a coilover setup in the rear.
Looks like I need to start looking at some 1 3/4" headers...can it get a close determination of ET? And should I step up to 3" pipe with the crossover?
thanks again!

Geez, that was a while ago. and I don't even remeber what I guessed it would run. Aha, here's my reply from the email I sent based on DD2k numbers and Dragstrip Plus for ET's - just for reference
Here you go:
Dual Plane Single plane
HP TQ HP TQ
2000 158 415 146 383
2500 208 436 194 408
3000 258 452 249 436
3500 317 475 313 470
4000 375 492 379 498
4500 428 499 441 514
5000 469 492 491 516
5500 497 475 529 505
6000 507 444 546 478
6500 500 404 545 440
7000 480 360 543 392
I hope all the numbers stay lined up. I would probably stay with the dual
plane being a heavy truck and small tube headers. Go with as much gear and
stall as you can take - the truck will need it all.
Dragrstrip Plus says 13.29 @ 104.3 mph with the dual plane, 13.23 @ 107.2
with the single plane. Optimum gear is 4.56 (yah, right) and a 4500 stall.
I used a 3000 stall and 3.73 gear. It goes faster with more gear and more
stall.
If you go to a smaller cam you get: a 12.98 @ 105 with the Comp 282s and a
dual plane intake. Much more driveability too. Also - IMO a smaller carb
(like a 750 vac secondary) might help being your truck is so heavy.
Hope this helps.
Eric
