Hello, new user here.

My father and I are restoring a 1967 Camaro convertible that he purchased new. It was equipped with a console-mounted clock (option U35). In my teenage years, I used the console space first for a Heathkit tachometer then for a set of Stewart-Warner aftermarket gauges, one of which regularly leaked drips of hot engine oil on the console because of my mechanical ineptitude.

We have the round metal shell for the clock, the wiring harness, and the mounting hardware. The electro-mechanical clock innards have gone missing. Does anybody know if the innards from the 1968 model clock (which was mounted in a squarish sort of console molding) might fit into the 1967 shell? The 1968 clocks are relatively easy to find, but I've not been able to locate an original or quartz-conversion clock unit for the 1967.

Thanks in advance for any help.

check these folks out. I would go for the quartz movement with your senario.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'd found that site before, but I had the impression that the company was in the business of refurbishing and restoring existing clocks only. If I have any success I'll report back for the benefit of other members.
