Hi, I am getting a NOS 2 stage cheater system for my 84 camaro, and I was wondering if I would mount the bottle right under the glass of the rear hatch... If I did mount the bottle there, I won't end up drilling into the gas tank will I??? I really want the bottle to be visible to people who are walking by, because it is a partial show car... mostly for racing though... can I do this???

I never owned a 2nd gen, but I've seen some 3rd and 4th gens with it there. I think it all depends on how long your screws/bolts are.
If you are going to be racing with the bottle there, you need some kind of rear firewall since it's a hatch back style car. It's in the NHRA rule book, and my track has kicked off a few 5.0s for that reason. Just something to think about. Peace out! :D

Mount the bottle in the well, out of the sun's heat. Get a spare bottle for show to put in the window. Also, yes NHRA rules state a steel or aluminum divider.

just a note on nitrous bottle mounting and nhra rules. you can mount the bottle in the driver compartment as long as the bottle is equipped w/ a relief valve and vented to outside of car, (i.e. a 1/2 tube). so as long as it has that, you can mount them anywhere but on the drivers seat ;)
