Hi, i have a 76 camaro and was wondering what cam to pick there are so many choices out there but i was picking between the xe274 and xe268
my combo is:
standard 350
trickflow 195 heads with 10.7:1 compression
rpm air gap intake with an eddy 800avs
turbo 350 with a 3k stall and 4.56 gears
i want a lopey idle but i also want power breaks
any ideas would be very helpful too
i will be using a set of rhodes lifters i already have so i dont have to buy new ones
thanks

You're a bit mismatched. You have rear gearing and stall that would want a larger cam than the two you're considering. But then you say you need pwr brakes so you're asking a lot of a cam.
With 10.7 CR and AL heads, you'll need something in the 230 @ .050 duration or more or she'll ping.
And that's about the biggest you can go and still run enough vacuum for brakes without balky brakes.
Also, I'm no fan of the XE line of cams from Comp. There are way too many reports of wiped lobes. Do a search on this site and others "wiped XE lobe" and you'll be reading for days.
I'd spend the extra jack and go roller,..little chance of wiping a lobe and more performance.

Check out the Magnum280H-10 or Magnum 286H-10 from comp.
The 286 magnum will be low on vacuum, and pretty aggressive, and you would probably need 11:1.
Also, unless you're going with a roller, you shouldn't reuse flat tappet lifters on different cams other than the ones they were broken in with.

Yeah, and on the exact same lobe too.
