View Full Version : sheet metal valve covers
MarkM Sep 3rd, 03, 05:05 AM I'm thinking about getting some valve covers like these

Right now on my current valve covers, I'm running a pcv on one valve cover and a breather on the other. If I get the new ones, should I just drill holes in them to accept these? Or are there other options?
NHRA1877 Sep 3rd, 03, 05:16 AM I absolutly love those valve covers, i have been looking into the MOROSO ones, but was just wondering, what are the price on those and who makes them?
MarkM Sep 3rd, 03, 06:25 AM These are the Granatilli ones.
Here's a link to the prices. There are two different styles too. The other style doesn't have the lip at the rail.

NHRA1877 Sep 3rd, 03, 09:29 AM i think the MOROSO ones are about 249. I think the only difference is the little MOROSO engraved into them. I love the look of and aluminum weld, so those valve covers are for me. I need to finish the car so i can`t afford them now but i can assure you i will have a set of them. I think im going to go fo the MOROSO ones being as theres not much of a price difference
MarkM Sep 3rd, 03, 10:41 AM I checked Jegs, the Moroso ones are quit a bit more expensive. And IMHO don't look as well as the Granatilli. The moroso ones look rougher.

NHRA1877 Sep 3rd, 03, 10:59 AM hmm...i coulda swore i say them for cheeper, i`ll look around and let you know. Those sound like a good deal then, if you get them let me know how they come out.
68rs406 Sep 3rd, 03, 12:01 PM those are sweet, my buddy runs the moroso covers on his 632. they are polished now, but i don't know what they looked like new, either. you pretty much just cut and weld to put accesories on them, add a bung for a breather or pcv. i would imagine they sell weld on bungs and baffle kits for them, as with any other aluminum valve cover.
Silver69Camaro Sep 3rd, 03, 12:02 PM Hey guys, what about Summit? They have the BBC covers for $220, and the SBC for $200. Part number SUM-440333 and SUM-440335, respectively.
MarkM Sep 5th, 03, 08:36 AM Well I guess if I get them, I'll just drill holes big enough for the gromment to use a push in breather and pcv.
Milan Sep 5th, 03, 10:49 AM Mark I love those covers. When I scrape the cash together (if) They are on my list. I considered the breather issue and was thinking along the lines of using the AN fittings like the evac systems and inserting a pvc in line and a breather in the other. That would be trick!!! graemlins/thumbsup.gif

They were on my 68 when I bought it about a month ago. Love 'em. Didn't know they were that expensive though. The problem was finding an air cleaner to match.
