IMO air punches are a waste of money.

Buy a roper whitney hand punch and be done with it. Has mutliple sized dies to punch different sized holes and can punch a hole about 3" from the edge, cant do that with an air punch.
They are about 80 bucks for the JR.5 model and 200 for the XXX model. The one pictured is the JR.5

I did consider that model, but with what I do, the pneumatic type was all I needed. Maybe someday when I can "burp" for it, I will make the purchase.

How about a step drill such as a unibit?

How about a step drill such as a unibit?

In a pinch; but it's slower and leaves a burr on one side. More prep time required. And step drills lose their initial pilot edge quickly and require a pilot hole first to hasten the process. Tic-toc.

lol. Corporate America is still making millions while we struggle to feed our kids and fix our camaros. Screw them. We need our camaros fixed. I mean we can always grow food in our backyards, right? :D ok ok ok its the Irresponsible-ness in me... Of course we need to feed our kids first.. So they can grow up strong, get jobs, and help us fix our Camaros when we are old and decrepit.. Ok I am done l:)

Lol!... That's hilarious. If you want a bigger laugh, read through my earlier pages in my thread to learn how I ended up with my welder.:D (talkin' bout Corporate America...)

I used the HF spot weld drills for 99% of the new holes I drilled in virgin sheet metal. It worked great, especially if you did a tiny pilot hole for the arbor first....jscott
