I've heard that a pcv connection to a carb lowers an engines performance. How true is this? Should I pull the connection?

The only way it will hurt power is if something is wrong. Excessive blow by from worn rings can cause the PCV to suck oil and lead to detonation problems. I always run a PCV.

if you dont hook it up you will actually lose some h.p.. if you create some vacuum(PVC)in the crank case the rings will seal better. this is why you see crankcase vacuum tubes (the tubes comming from the valve caovers)conected to hedders on race motors, the hedders create vacuum at higher RPMS.
