Greg,
The torque should be the same, 75 lb ft. Are you sure you used the correct gaskets etc ? Did you use sealer on the bolts ? Washers on the bolts ? Any chance the bolts are bottoming out on something ? What is leaking...water ?

I say this because I put new aluminum heads on my engine and it leaked coolant from the rear passenger side. After investigating, I figured out that there was a bad seal between my intake and heads. I also did not apply gasket sealer around the coolant holes the first time like I should have but did so the second time and so far I've had no leaks.

Just thought I would tell you my story. I'd hate to see you pull the heads when you may only need to pull and reseal the intake.

Good luck and let us know how you make out.
