hey I was just looking for some info, what does it take to super charge a 350? I have a crate 350 with a comp cam 270 and edlebrock intake would I have to change my internals or anything if I supercharge it?

depends on the supercharger system, power goals, etc. There are supercharger kits that will literally bolt onto that crate motor, but whether you need to change parts is up to your goals.

Like Jody said^.
There is more than one way to force feed your crate 350.
Are you considering a draw thru roots or a blow thru centifugal?
Is hood clearance an issue for you?
What power increase over the crate 350 are you targeting?
What will you do with the car 90% of the time..Street-street/strip-race only?

Ditto on above...plus, what are the internals right now? Forged, cast?

The first consideration is compression. Most GM crate motors have low compression but we don't know which one you have. Type of blower affects what compression you need as well.

the internals are all stock(cast) except the cam and intake and my compression is about 145 psi per cylinder Iam goin to be driving it mostly street and I just want some more horse nothing crazy or anything and not sure what type of supercharger to run and hood clearence woudnt be a problem , would changing heads make a difference?

you technically can put a supercharger on that engine, but dont expect it to last long with the stock internals. It has low enough compression to where you can get away with a weiand 177 series and still run pump gas. IMO if your going to do it, do it right the first time. Upgrade the internals.

ya I want to do it right what would be a good upgrade from a stock head ? I just want some more power , oh what all would I have to do to the internals?

IF your just looking for more street power it should run finewithoneof the mini blowers. Provided you get the timing wright. Several people have done it on this board. I looked into quite extensively for my 350/330 ho motor. My biggest concern was fitting one under the hood. good luck.

hey thanks alot for all the info iam really goin to look into it i will get back to you guys on what I decide

you really should have forged internals to run any type of forced induction !

I would run a cheap motor and replace it when it blows up! I would not want to blow up 4 bolt main steel cranked motors! It will happen eventually!

Depending on how much boost you want you most likely would need forged pistons and ceramic compression rings at the very least (due to added heat), plus a cam grind for blowers. Don't have to worry much about special heads since you're forcing the mixture but you want big valves. You could run 5-6 lbs of boost on a cast crank and 2 bolt mains. Any supercharger system will need more fuel volume and good spark. Carbs also need to be set up a little different.

This would be a good start: ;)
