: What clutch should I use?
nova67camaro Jul 5th, 10, 01:51 PM I have a 67 SS with the original 350 motor in it. I am putting an original Muncie back in it because at some time a T10 was put in place. Any suggestions on what kind of clutch kit to put in it? It has the stock 3.31 gears, but I would like to swap to 3.73 eventually. I will probably order from Summit.
thanks!
69RS/Z28 Jul 5th, 10, 01:55 PM I just put a centerforce in my 69 Z. I haven't run it yet, but I purchased this clutch because of feed-back I've read here. Hope this helps.

tejasrs/ss Jul 5th, 10, 02:25 PM how many splines on your front shaft? I got a brand new Ram Performance Clutch set I bought from Summit. Bought the wrong one but I had had it too long to return it without paying ourageous restocking fees.

nova67camaro Jul 5th, 10, 04:09 PM Ok. I was looking at the 92762 Ram Musclecar one also. What model Zoom did you use?
440sixpack Jul 5th, 10, 04:34 PM I've been going with centerforce for about the last 10 years and I'm very happy. on my 500+ HP car I went with the dual friction but it's kinda touchy and way over kill for a stock 350. use the CFT I or the CFT II and you'll have a light pedal, smooth action and more hold than you'd ever need. CFT clutches are also balanced very well, one of the few clutches my machine shop doesn't want in their hands want when do a balance job.

X2 very happy with ZOOM

I used the HP series, I believe it was...11 inch clutch kit (came with pressure plate/throwout/busing/etc...
It is the one withthe "kevlar" clutch...
Steiner Jul 5th, 10, 05:57 PM I've got a Sachs 650 lb ft rated 11" kit. Checked the pressure plate at the engine builder and it was balanced perfectly. Take up is great and pedal pressure is not heavy at all.
nova67camaro Jul 5th, 10, 09:32 PM Thanks for the advice. I think I am going to go wit the Zoom # 30015. I will let you all know how it turns out.
thanks, again

thanks, again I installed the Zoom also with no issues other than using an all bronze pilot bushing instead of the one that came with the kit.
