Just picked up a remanufactured Holley <4779>750dp to replace my well worn <3310>750vs <modified>. What jets would you recomend for a starting point <has 71F/80R,6.5pv F/R,#31 Squirters> I'm new to the DP's but know the vs's too well.

406 sb
9.5:1 comp.
5.7" rods
torker intake
280H compcam
stock heads 76cc<1.94I/1.6E> shaved,port & polished

No Nova rears found, so I bought a carb. graemlins/clonk.gif

With dual power valves you won't need the wide split in the jets. I'd start with a #70 jet all around.

Not fully up on DP's , so add to the above... 4 corner idle, pri squirters are 28's and the secondarys are 31's.

Don't the DP's come stock with that front/back split?

According to Holley's book,
List 0-4779
Primary jets 75
Sec jets 76
Power Valves 85
Pri Squirter 25
Sec Squirter 28

List 0-4779-1 & -2
Pri Jets 70
Sec Jets 80
Pwr Valves -1 85, -2 65
Pri Sqtr 28
Sec Sqtr 31

Start here, then t/s & tune. I'd reduce the size of the carb.

Well, I installed the carb. today. Adjusted idle<1000rpm in park>,idle air screws<1 turn out, best vacuum>, and float levels. Got to drive it around the block after she warmed up <170ish> She seems to idle great, no bog, and now pulls 13" of vacuum.
Couldn't really take her out too far to really get on it.

Any other "tunning" ?
