would a msg ignition box give me a perfect spark every time, regardless if i install when my engine is not giving a perfect spark... meaning.. would a msd ignition box automatically adjust it self, even say i was misfiring?:o

The box will output only what is given on its input.
If you are adding a MSD-6 box or the like, the point set becomes an on-off switch for the box and the box runs the coil.

If the distributor has a worn cam and is flat on one half circumference, meaning the point set does not open for 1/2 revolution, no output from the box for the half revolution.

Dependent upon the model of box, the original point set in the original distributor is a simple on-off switch for the box. The box has independent power wires going to the battery and ground to handle current requirements. Every time the point set opens, as for each cylinder, a spark is generated by the coil controlled by the box.

If the cam, the eight sided wheel the point set rubs against, in the distributor is worn down smooth on half of the circumference, four cylinders, the point set will not open and no spark delivered from the coil. The point set must open to give a spark.

So the distributor itself has to be in good repair, good bushings for the shaft, and a good cam for the point set to rub against, and a good vacuum cannister for cruise timing.

If you have a misfire, fix the misfire problem first, then add the MSD box as the MSD box will only magnify the problem.
