Hi all. I picked up a DZ block a few years ago that had some issues with the bearings. It was a running engine but you could definately hear something going on in the bottom end.

What I need to know is about the heads that were on it. After I got the engine home I noticed the heads were non-matching. One is a 461 D283 2.02/1.60 and the other is a 291 K227 2.02/1.60. From what I can tell by looking and I am not an expert here is the exhaust ports look a bit opened up, and smooth on both heads. The intake ports appear untouch. The valve springs are about 1 7/16" diameter with 3 springs. Heads have guide plates and screw in studs.

I want to sell them as they are but I know there isn't much desirability for them even if they were a matched set. I know someone could clean them up and install as is, heck I would use them myself if I was putting something together, but I am past that part of my life now.

Can I sell these or am I just wasting my time trying?

I want to clean up some stuff I have laying around before it's too late to, if you know what I mean.

Thanks for the help.

I would list them in the Classifieds. The 291 Head is for an early 68 Camaro.

One of the reasons I posted about the heads was just that. One is for an early 68. I don't think anyone would want to buy a single head though that may have been modified. I'm thinking if someone just throws an engine together for a spare, the heads, even if non matching numbers would work in a pinch. Seen it done many times.
